Healthcare Solutions Principal AMCP Medical Writer Position Description

The Healthcare Solutions Principal AMCP Medical Writer (AMCP-MW) is needed for writing and editing medically focused AMCP dossiers for a variety of therapeutics areas to address medical, scientific, and health economic objectives. Successfully prepare submission-ready documents and be the AMCP dossier writing expert of the department. This position must be staffed in the North Chicago office and not remotely because of the team interaction needed to fulfill this role. Strong senior medical writers without AMCP dossiers experience will also be considered for this position.

Principle AMCP Medical Writer Key Responsibilities Include:

1.Duties include developing, editing and managing the production of AMCP Dossiers and scientific presentations for payers
2.Work with therapeutic area leads to incorporate TA strategies, scientific platforms and value messages into AMCP dossiers
3.Concerted efforts with Global Medical Information to develop and edit responses addressing unsolicited payer and health care provider requests for health outcome information
4.Coalesce scientific data to develop comprehensive, balanced, credible and accurate documents that comply with all applicable regulations, and policies and procedures, and are used to appropriately respond to inquiries from payers and health care providers
5.Provide medical writing support for all areas within therapeutic areas
6.Ability to perform literature searches for creating AMCP dossiers
7.Ability to assimilate, and interpret sources of information with appropriate guidance from team members. Understand and explain data generated from a variety of sources, including internal and external studies, research documentation, charts, graphs, and tables, and verify the results are consistent with study data
8.Project manage and prioritizes multiple projects and provides solutions to complex issues while delivering complete and accurate information within deadlines
9.Proactively propose solutions to issues and questions arising during the writing or review process, including resolution or elevation as appropriate
10.Keep current and aware of industry practices that pertain to corporate Policies and Procedures and continually train to be compliant with all current company industry requirements
11.Responsible for reporting of adverse effects and product complaints to Pharmacovigilance and Surveillance

AMCP-MW Basic Requirements:
1.PharmD, PhD, MD or equivalent
2.Experience developing AMCP dossiers and documents related to outcomes research preferred; understanding of model/template documents and how to use them correctly also preferred
3.3-5 years industry medical writing work experience that is an expert in medical communications and medical writing with extensive experience writing high quality, evidence based scientific documents
4.Deep understanding of managed care / access issues with previous experience in formulary or evidence-based evidence writing, review and assessments, and knowledge in evidence-based healthcare decision-making processes
5.Able to assimilate and interpret scientific content, and redirect information for multiple audiences
6.HEOR training is beneficial
7.Knowledge of statistical concepts and techniques
8.Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
