The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is scientific field-based hematology expert that strategically assists the research and business objectives of the hematology therapeutic area across the product life cycle. MSLs are the front line communicators of scientific exchange within the New York territory with healthcare professionals, and MSLs are viewed as peer to peer scientific experts in a hematology. This MSL position must combine strong business acumen, market awareness, as well as clinical expertise to serve as a conduit of information and field medical insight to a cross-functional stakeholder group. Based on therapeutic needs and the product life cycles, MSL field force teams will prioritize certain core MSL responsibilities over others.
The territory covered will be all of New York with the ideal candidate location within New York City.
Key MSL Hematology Responsibilities Include:
1.Key Opinion Leader (KOL) or External Expert relationship cultivation
2.Identifies, gains access to, and develops professional relationships with external experts in Hematology within New York State.
3.Educates, presents and trains relative to hematology products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers.
4.Serves as a medical and scientific resource to healthcare providers by answering unsolicited medical questions.
5.Supports research initiatives and clinical trails at the request of R&D including; site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and study management.
6.Works to project manage with internal Medical Affairs customers to develop and execute a territory plan to support shared business objectives.
7.Keeps current internal database relating to activities in their New York territory.
8.Prepares territory customers in new hematology areas of interest, including building awareness and creating relationships throughout the Medical community.
9.Be a scientific resource to commercial partners when appropriate to support organizational goals and activities
10.Creates and articulates a professional growth plan for self.
11.Keeps current on global market trends, issues and product knowledge as it pertains to key Hematology areas.
12.Actively manages and is responsible for professional development.
Basic Qualifications MSL Hematology:
1.Advanced degree required (i.e. Pharm D, MD, DO, PhD, PA) in a relevant scientific discipline.
2.Doctorate strongly preferred in a health related discipline.
3.Oncology-Hematology experience required.
4.Industry work experience in relevant therapeutic area in lieu of education requirements may be acceptable.
5.At least 2 years of clinical or scientific research experience or equivalent required.
6.Pharmaceutical industry experience in hematology preferred.
7.Candidate must possess advanced problem solving and analytic skills.
