Medical Science Liaison Dermatology
Territory: Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and Delaware
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field force based scientific expert that strategically supports the research and business objectives of the dermatology products across each product life cycle. MSLs are the primary communicators of science within a defined territory of Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and other healthcare professionals. MSLs are the field based scientific experts on the dermatology disease state and treatment options. MSLs combine strong clinical expertise, business acumen, and market awareness while serving as a conduit of information to a cross-functional customer base both externally and internally. Teams may focus on certain responsibilities in various degrees based on therapeutic needs and product life cycles, including clinical development and pipeline support.
Medical Science Liaison Dermatology Key Responsibilities Include:
1.Aid research initiatives including, site evaluation and identification, recruitment, investigator meetings, external expert identification, and external collaboration management
2.Initiates and develops professional relationships with Dermatology KOLs and external experts (EEs) in the territory
3.Documents and communicates field insights to internal business partners
4.Provides education relative to disease state and products across the product lifecycle to healthcare providers and researchers
5.Educates self on industry issues and trends and product knowledge in Dermatology
6.Collaborates with in-field teams to develop and execute a territory of shared business objectives
7.Keeps internal database up to date as it relates to KOL interactions in territory
8.Is a scientific resource to commercial partners supporting activities like Medical Congress staffing, Advisory Boards, and training initiatives
9.Accountable for providing and supporting clinical information needs within territory including supporting corporate needs by meeting targeted goals and providing support for strategic clinical initiative;, executes a territory business and MSL team tactical plans and achieves assigned project deadlines, and annual functional goals
10.Compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and Procedure
Medical Science Liaison Dermatology Basic Requirements, Details and Compensation:
1.Advanced degree required (i.e., PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, NP, PA) in a dermatology or relevant area. Doctorate strongly preferred in a health science or clinical discipline.
2.Industry experience in dermatology may be accepted in lieu of education requirements. Greater than or equal to 2 years of clinical, scientific/research, or industry related experience or equivalent required.
3.Pharmaceutical industry experience within relevant scientific discipline preferred.
4.Must have strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills required.
5.Possesses advanced problem solving and analytic skills to be able to identify, and translate specific territory need, into action to achieve objectives
6.Travel up to 75% of the time
