Medical Science Liaison - Gulf Coast (TN, LA, AR, MS, AL)

The candidate for this position will be responsible for facilitating and developing relationships with the medical/scientific community by communicating product-related information to investigators, institutions, cooperative groups, consortia, managed care organizations, P&T committees and other venues. Position will provide information on research developments and new concepts in medical treatment/management, while providing perspective to medical/scientific field activities associated with growing existing products, as well as agents that are in the process of being brought to market. This position will report to the Director - Medical Science Liaisons, Central (within US Medical Affairs).

This position specializes in Oncology/Hematology.

The geography for this MSL position will be Tennessee, Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, and Alabama. Travel is required and will likely be 65%.

Responsibilities:
" Identifies, establishes and maintains collaborative relationships with key investigators, institutions, groups and consortia strategic to the effective use of company products.
" Participates in medical education for healthcare professionals, including formulary (P&T) committees, through presentations at appropriate venues.
" Facilitates the identification of medical community training and educational needs for product introduction.
" Works with the appropriate departments to ensure required education and training are provided.
" Increases company visibility with current and future industry leaders.
" Identifies clinical research opportunities that are consistent with company objectives.
" Enhances professional interaction between Incyte and industry leaders.
" Represents the key contact for investigators for the initiation of investigator initiated studies.
" Provides investigators with technical support for study development.
" Identifies and communicates key clinical and research issues from industry leaders to appropriate departments to help shape company research, development, marketing plans, and strategies.
" Maintains clinical expertise through aggressive education, including attendance at relevant conferences, scientific workshops and review of key journals.
" Gathers and disseminates competitive intelligence from multiple sources.
" Takes advantage of opportunities to mentor other MSL team members, and participates in cross-functional Medical Affairs teams.
" Is able to assist with administrative aspects of regional field activities.
" Substantively contributes to scientific publication planning, slide-deck development, training initiatives and the development of a Medical Strategy Plan.
" Assists the organization toward providing response to unsolicited requests for information with his/her direct collaboration with Medical Information Services personnel.
" Completes accurate and timely administrative reports, project plans, and required documentation requests.

Minimum Requirements:
" An advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) is required with prior experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical or healthcare education environment is required.
" Ability to travel up to 65% of the time. As this is a customer-facing position, and the geographic territory expected to be covered is large, the candidate's availability for frequent travel is of paramount importance for professional and programmatic success.
" A minimum of 5 years hematology/oncology experience is required.
" Clinical trial development experience is preferred.
" Knowledge of treatment guidelines (NCCN, ASCO, ASH, ESMO, etc.), clinical research processes, FDA regulations, CMS reimbursement coverage process, and OIG guidelines
" Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills are required.
