Exceptional Bay Area opportunity for a seasoned leader with professional and DTC marketing mix experience. The Director of Market Research will be responsible for setting the long-term vision for and ensuring human and financial resources are in place to achieve the long-and short-term goals of Market Research.
Essential Duties and Job Functions:
Establishes appropriate procedures, systems, metrics and infrastructure that ensure best-in-class operational support from the Market Research organization.
Leads a team of research and analytics professionals that develop and deliver relevant insights to internal customers providing directional advice to address market challenges and opportunities.
Maintains strong business relationships with key functional areas (e.G., Commercial and Marketing, National Accounts, FP&A, Legal, HR, IT, Manufacturing).
Responsible for long-term growth and evolution of the department including:

Serves as an active contributing member of the leadership team for the Marketing Sciences group.
Inspires culture and institutes key processes and leads by example, respecting company values.
Optimally leverages and appropriately allocates human and financial resources across business units and franchises.
Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
15+ years of relevant pharmaceutical industry experience, including 9+ years of primary and secondary market research, strategic analysis and planning experience and a BA/BS degree.
MBA degree or other advanced degree is desirable.
Extensive knowledge and experience in quantitative and ROI metric analysis for HCP and DTC/P marketing mix including TV, digital, print channels.
In-depth experience in life sciences, healthcare, pharmaceutical and biotech industry is required.
Prior people management experience required.
Exceptional leadership, hiring and staff development skills required.
Extensive knowledge of the role of Market Research and expertise in core business areas are a must.
Excellent management skills in the areas of training, performance management, planning, prioritization, objective setting, meeting management and plan execution.
Ability to build strong relationships with the most senior management members of Commercial Operations and other functions.
Ability to direct key departmental changes through leading and mentoring others.
Ability to establish credibility and influence with diverse audiences and be perceived as a leader.
Highly developed skills as planner with ability to formulate, develop and execute strategy.
Must have highly developed communication skills with an ability to efficiently and productively communicate both orally and in writing.
