Job Description

Title: Actuary
Location: Tampa
Salary:$110-130k


Developing spreadsheet-based methods & calculations
Supervising the inputting & manipulating of data
Performing predictive modeling using Generalized Linear Models & non-linear methods using mostly the SAS & R software platforms supporting rate analyses
Preparing & submitting state regulatory filing support
Checking work for technical accuracy
The nature of the projects will vary widely throughout the year. We do traditional actuarial work such as ratemaking, predictive modeling & reserving, plus a variety of special projects.

The Actuary would typically supervise the work of Associate Actuary & actuarial analysts, as well as being responsible for

Contributing to the vision of a given project
Overseeing the execution of the project
Coordinating communication with clients
Directing staff participation; &
Complying with internal quality control guidelines.
Qualifications
Required:

A college degree in actuarial science, mathematics, data science, statistics, or other quantitative major
Associateship (ACAS) & three years experience in property-casualty actuarial work (for the Associate Actuary position) or Fellowship (FCAS) & six years experience in property-casualty actuarial work (for the Actuary position)
Technically proficient in Excel
SAS, R or SQL programming experience required, proficiency preferred
Experience in property/casualty actuarial ratemaking &/or state regulatory filing strongly preferred
Predictive modeling experience strongly preferred
