Well known manufacturing company is seeking a Data Scientist to join a new analytical COE that will solve some of the company's most pressing manufacturing, marketing and finance challenges. Seeking deep experience in machine learning and business analysis in a corporate environment. You will manage full cycle analytics projects, from scoping the business challenge to developing predictive models to implementing and measuring solutions.
Note: candidates must have at least 5 years of full time, post-academia business analytics experience in an analytics team. Candidates must be a US citizen or green card holder at this time.
Responsibilities of the Data Scientist:
--Own and design analytical projects leading to improved manufacturing capabilities.
--Pull and prepare structured and unstructured datasets.
--Perform data mining and segmentation analysis.
--Use Python or R to build machine learning algorithms to optimize current and future state processes.
--Prepare reports and visualizations and deliver insights/recommendations to business partners.
Requirements of the Data Scientist:
--Minimum 5 years of data science experience in a business setting (preferably manufacturing).
--Business experience building machine learning algorithms.
--Experience partnering with business teams and IT to support business needs.
--Proficiency using Python, R and SQL in a business analytics setting to perform data mining predictive modeling, optimizations etc. CPLEX experience desired.
--Proficiency using a variety of visualization tools to tell the story to business partners.
--Superior communication skills with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations of your work.
--Master's degree in a quantitative field (Predictive Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or other).
