1.The Medical Director Oncology Latin America will provide medical/scientific strategic and operational guidance for medical affairs related activities providing relevant scientific training to Latin America and Affiliate Oncology therapeutic area resources.
2.Candidate will represent the Latin America in vital core Medical Affairs activities such as;
a.Health-care professional/provider interactions with Payers, Patients, Prescribers, and Providers.
b.Generation of clinical and scientific data to enhance therapeutic benefit and value
c.Educational initiatives including medical education, data, guidelines and value proposition.
d.Safeguarding patient safety including risk minimization activities / safety surveillance activities.
3.The Latin America Oncology Therapeutic Area Lead will work closely with commercial teams to provide strategic medical input into core brand and product strategies, and to support medical/marketing activities and market access;
a.Provide scientific and technical support for assigned products.
b.Deliver scientific presentations.
c.Develop and maintain professional and credible relationships with key opinion leaders.
d.Actively participate in relevant Brand Teams and helps develop medical affairs strategies for assigned products.
e.Develop innovative research concepts for clinical data generation.
Medical Director Oncology Latin America Key Responsibilities Include:
1.Develop area therapeutic strategy and bring insights and knowledge from the Areas into the development of the Global TA Medial Affairs strategy.
2.Provide consultation to affiliates on development of the affiliate therapeutic area strategy and bring insights and knowledge from the affiliates into the development of the Area Medial Affairs strategy.
3.Actively participate in relevant Brand Teams, provide strategic medical input into core brand and product strategies and develop medical affairs strategies for assigned products.
4.Oversees the conduct of Area clinical trials and is medically and scientifically accountable for resolution of safety issues, interpretation of statistical analyses for clinical significance, PI selection, safety monitoring, study reports and other communications of study results.
5.Educates on and coordinates appropriate scientific and medical activities with internal stakeholders.
6.Provides training to Area and Affiliate cross-functional peers on therapeutic area topics.
7.Oversee scientific/medical education of investigators, clinical monitors for Area Trials.
8.Manages and conducts area external expert engagement and may represents at external meetings including investigator meetings, scientific association meetings, etc.
9.May serves as the scientific team representative for regulatory discussions.
1.Advanced education (MD, PhD, PharmD, PA, NP) highly preferred
2.Residency or/+ post doc highly preferred
3.Typically 10+ years experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent
4.Substantial understanding of Oncology therapeutic area required
5.Management and leadership experience at project level, experience with strategic initiatives/issues
6.Proven leadership skills in a cross-functional team environment.
7.Ability to interact externally and internally to support global business strategy
8.Ability to run a clinical study or medical affairs team independently with little supervision
9.Knowledge of clinical trial methodology, regulatory requirements governing clinical trials and experience in development strategy and the design of protocols
