Senior Vice President of Data Science Job Overview

We are currently seeking a Senior Vice President of Data Science. This position will report into the President and will oversee the quantitative research department. Duties include:
-Leading the quantitative research department
-Recommending research methodologies and designing studies
-Interfacing with clients to develop new business and communicate insights
-Guiding questionnaire development
-Overseeing sampling methodology
-Analyzing data
-Advanced statistical modeling
-Data mining to derive quantitative based business insights
-Developing analysis frameworks for evaluating business problems
-Data visualization
The employee will spend approximately 10-15% of his/her time traveling to meet with clients.

Senior Vice President of Data Science Required Skills

-Expert in market research methodologies (segmentation studies, brand positioning / tracking studies, creative testing, pricing studies, etc.)
-Ability to manage and lead quantitative research teams
-Hands-on statistical experience with methodologies such as:
-Factor analysis
-Cluster analysis
-Regression analysis
-Significance testing
-Conjoint analysis
-10+ years overall market research experience
-5+ years of VP or higher role in supplier side market research
-5+ years of experience with data science, especially in market research applications
-Prior experience with a statistical package such as SPSS, R, or Python
-Deep understanding of statistics and algorithms to uncover latent relationships between consumer behavior and survey data
-Understanding of marketing strategy and business application
-Proven ability to conduct data mining to uncover insights about consumer behaviors and recommend how to apply those insights for marketing applications
-Ability to translate complex statistical concepts into simple data visualizations
-Solid understanding of market research processes and best practices (study design, questionnaire design, sampling methodology (sample size, composition, weighting, etc.), data processing, analysis, and dashboard design)
-Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
-Strong verbal and written communication skills, and experience developing and delivering client presentations

Senior Vice President of Data Science Desired Skills

-Familiarity with advanced statistical methodologies such as:
-Random Forest
-Conjoint / discrete choice analysis
-Structural equation modeling
-Latent class analysis
-Neural networks / AI language models
-Knowledgeable about psychology particularly human relationship science
-History of innovation and out-of-the-box thinking particularly in developing new market research approaches
-Up to date on new research methodologies such as biometrics, neuroscience and mobile based research techniques
-A Masters or PhD in statistics, math, research methodologies, or psychology
-Market research experience in financial services, technology, healthcare, entertainment/media and CPG
