Job Description

Title: Technology Actuary
Location: Remote
Compensation -$120,000 - $150,000 per year + Bonus

Actuarial Overview:
Smith Hanley is seeking an Actuary (ASA or FSA) with a technical background to spearhead initiatives centered on introducing pricing computations, streamlining batch modeling processes, and elevating research and reporting databases. In this position, you will collaborate closely with IT personnel to create programs that underpin actuarial department functions.

Actuarial Role & Requirements:
- Analyzes financial and non-financial data to identify trends or indicators and makes recommendations related to management
- Optimize code functionality by prioritizing technology over filings.
- Offers programming and modeling assistance.
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellowship of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
- Strong working knowledge of Java and/or Groovy
