Compensation: $80,000 - $130,000
The Valuation Actuary is responsible for the modeling, valuation and financial reporting of fixed indexed annuities. As a member of the financial reporting team, the incumbent contributes to the design and execution of actuarial models and associated analysis; and maintains accurate valuation records and cash flow models.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Ensures timely and accurate reporting, validation and analysis of assets and liabilities, as well as delivery of required quarterly and year-end reporting items.
-Focuses on economic based reporting, including but not limited to the following metrics: Embedded Value, -Cash Flow Testing (CFT) and Financial Plan.
-Completes reporting deliverables on a monthly or quarterly cycle.
-Performs audit validation maintaining accurate valuation assumptions and inputs.
-Assists with the development of certain financial plan and forecasting items.
-Assists in model development and/or production in Mg-ALFA.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
-Bachelors degree in actuarial science, or related field of study; and seven (7) years of related actuarial experience, or equivalent combination of education/and experience.
-At least 3 years of MG-ALFA experience. Will consider combination of other actuarial software.
-Prior experience with regulatory asset adequacy analysis (or CFT) is preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, PROFESSIONAL DESIGNATIONS:
-FSA, MAAA or ASA, MAAA required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
-Deep understanding of actuarial science and the ability to apply this knowledge is critical.
-Strong knowledge of all laws, rules and regulations related to actuarial valuation in the annuities industry.
-Exceptional attention to numeric and other detail.
-Strong statistical and advanced math skills, including excellent Excel skills.
